This piece is a love letter in ink to the rugged edge of the world. The Cape Disappointment Lighthouse stands at the place named in frustration by Captain John Meares, who, in 1788, sailed past the very mouth of the Columbia River he sought, concluding with disappointment that it didn't exist. But it did. But this place where the Pacific meets the Columbia, and history and legend blur into the fog, is anything but disappointing. Truly Coastal Lore.
This beautiful piece by Christina Jensen was hand-drawn in pen and ink on paper.
